I bought 55lb, but it doesn’t provide battery. I need to buy a car battery 12V to drive it. Overall, it may be determined by the battery you bought. It just provides power

It’s heavy for it’s compact size and has a neat digital readout. It’s all white and simple. Moves my fully loaded 14.5 ft. canoe along great with 36 lbs. of thrust. The iron bottom acts like a rudder and can get you out fix in high waves.

    Excellent electric boat motor.
5 forward and 3 reverse gears make it very useful. Able to move 2 adults and 2 kids in a large heavy wooden boat with little effort.

I’ve used the trolling motor a couple of times now and I’m very happy with it. It’s very easy to use and the telescoping tiller handle is handy. I have plenty of power when going into a moderate wind with the motor set on 5. I would give the trolling motor five stars except I’ve been unable to locate a replacement propeller in the event I should damage the provided prop. Otherwise, a great product for the price.

Easy to install, a nice simple clamp. Easy to set up, just two wires, and easy to use.
Get away from the noisy smelly gas motor, and try this clean green electric machine, you will not be disappointed.

I am using this motor with an Index Excursion 4 inflatable boat and have been very pleased with it so far. I purchased the motor mount kit from Intex and also a 35Ah sealed battery and a case for it with a battery monitoring system (shunt). We recently went out fishing with my son, wife, and myself, a total weight of about 400 pounds plus some gear and the battery.

The motor performed quite well – very quiet (especially at low speeds) and had pretty good thrust even in some windy conditions. I did have a problem at first since I had wired a fuse inline and was using a 10amp fuse – as soon as I turned the speed up to level 3 (out of 5) it blew the fuse. Fortunately, I had brought a few spares with us, so I swapped it out for a 15 amp fuse. Based on the readings from my battery monitor, it seems to use around 2-3amps on speed 1, about 5-6amps for speed 2, 7-8 for speed 3, and then it jumped way up to 15-16amps for speed 4. I don’t think I ever got it up to speed 5, since I didn’t want to blow my fuse again. The speeds don’t seem to be evenly spaced, at least not based on power draw. I have thick enough wiring that I can probably go up to 30 or 40 amps with no issues, but haven’t tried using a fuse that high to see what the draw is for speed 5.

Once you know the power draw of the motor, it is fairly simple to determine how long your battery will last. With a 35Ah battery, you can draw down to 50% charge fairly safely, which means you can use about 17-20Ah. Running the boat on speed 1 should last a good six hours or more. Speed 2 maybe three hours, etc.

Adjusting the trim is easy with a simple lever/latch on the support. I also really like that the handle telescopes out a few extra inches, as this is more comfortable to hold from within the boat when with it retracted.

I do wish there was a case or something for transporting the motor. I am using the box it came in right now, but something a little less bulky would be nice. And a simpler way to remove the prop for transporting would also be convenient. It comes with a small wrench to use for attaching it, but this isn’t the quickest way to try to remove the prop if you are out in the field.

Overall, I was quite pleased with this little motor, and it is providing just what we were looking for – a simple way to move our boat around lakes and reservoirs so my son can fish without one of use needing to row. There is currently no price listed for this motor, but I think $150-$200 is reasonable for this motor compared to some of the other more well known brand names.

Using the unit is fairly easy. The attachment mechanism is strong. With the two bolts on attachment pieces the U-BC00 fits on most aluminum boats. And kayaks if you have an attachment plate. The swivel action allows the user full directional control even at high thrust. Setting the height is easy and can allow 180 degree control.

Thrust in a 12 foot aluminum boat, thrust on speed control is fluid. The handle fits the hand and gives a sure grip. When accelerating the 55Lbs is great. 55lb thrust can be achieved with a simple turn of the wrist. Each click of the handle is the next speed. This is important for the different types of fishing. ie, trolling.

The trolling motor are well design and very efficition, except for the mounting bracket which need to be re design, because when pull up and drop down the motor, i have to use two hand and leaning out to grab the “locking ring” to make sure it in place. Love the way they cut off and replace parts of the motor with good plastic to save weight, which also good for saltwater use. Other trolling motor often got the corrosion on the motor housing even when the housing was make from aluminum and painted, but when use the paint will scratch off.
Customer service are extremely helpful. They sent me another one when the original package was lost when delivery, they worked with me to make sure the trolling motor sent to me ontime, note: i live in Texas and was on an extreme-kayak-fishing tournament-trip from Florida to Bahamas, and the trolling motor is the secret tactics for my kayak. Lol. I explained it to them and i got the trolling motor on time when i was on a remote island in Bahamas.
